Day 13 - Monday Morning Motivation

HEAVY

That is the name of a new weight loss TV series that makes it's debut tonight at 9PM central on the A&E channel. Jacqueline January (one of our lovely 52 Club members) made me aware of this program last night, having me watch the video promo on their website. OMG! This video will grip your heart! You HAVE TO check it out now! VIDEO LINK

This is different than "The Biggest Losers" as it is not a contest. It is a show that will document 2 dangerously overweight people on each episode covering a 6 month span. Should be extremely inspiring. I really liked their tag line on the A&E site, "Their only hope is losing" - I would say that this will be one to add to our motivational viewing list. Here's the write up about the show from their site:

Unlike other weight loss series, “Heavy” is not a competition or stunt, but is rooted in the incredible real life day-to-day journeys of the participants during a lengthy treatment program. In order to most accurately document these multiple weight loss journeys over the course of six months and present them individually in one hour, A&E sought out two different production companies to undertake the lengthy and ambitious filming process. The result is a never-before-seen look at the unique struggles faced by dangerously obese individuals who must learn to live healthier lifestyles and understand the root of their food addictions. Through their day-to-day struggle and the voices of their loved ones, viewers will see first hand the pain and self-doubt associated with a debilitating weight problem.

Thanks again Jac for making the suggestion and I am setting my DVR now! It will be great viewing while on the treadmill doing my daily "move it" activity! Love and appreciate you guys! Remember this week to keep your eyes on the prize....taking our bodies back, one pound at a time!

Happy Monday!

  2. I did watch it! I loved the way the two of them were really "there" for each other. They developed a new friendship through the process! I know it helped each of them to have one another. Encourages me because through your blog, we too have each other on this journey! Love that!!!!!
